Miniature Silver Cannon

A delightful antique model of a naval cannon mounted on a piece of oak.

At only 9.5cm in length, it was probably intended as an after dinner-novelty designed to wake up those who may have nodded off over a glass of port!

GR (George Rex – probably King George III) is inscribed at the breach and although unmarked, we think it is made from solid silver.

A very attractive miniature.
